Congratulations to Jamie Favaro

Time's Up volunteer and avid bike rider Jamie Favaro helped prove once again that the bicycle is the fastest way around town in Thursday's Commuter Race. Transportation Alternatives held its annual event which pits together a subway, a car and a biker to find out which can get through town the fastest.

Elizabeth Press from Streetfilms was on hand and filed this video report.

Bikesnobnyc had a hilarious take on this race and decided to "unofficially" compete himself.

Here is an interview with the Jamie the winner, and he wants you all to know...this is a real interview.

There was also an article in today's Metro.

I'd love to ride to work everyday but the damn building I work in doesn't allow bikes to be brought in, even thought I have enough space in my office to park it. Locking it up outside isn't an option cause I actually value this my bike. Oh well.

@Anon.

Most vehicle garages in NYC will allow you to park bikes there. Check the garages around where you work. Also, most employers will let you bring the bike in via the service entrance, which means you get to spend the morning with a bunch of friendly building employees.

Finally, you could get a Dahon or Bike Friday folder and they can't stop you from folding it an bringing it in through the lobby when you've got it folded and in a bag.

Incidentally, the bike rider in this piece was smart enough to hold a helmet when she was NOT riding, but not smart enough to wear it when she was riding?
